The unforgettable temples of Thailand

Thailand- the country of many beautiful Buddhist temples. We will tell only about some of them so that you can plan their visit during your vacation in Thailand.

Wat Phra Keo in Bangkok
Wat Phra Kaew is the most important temple in Thailand. It is located in the very center of Bangkok in the innermost part of the Royal Palace and holds an emerald Buddha statue. This Buddha statue made of jadeite has a rich history. After discovering it in Chiang Rai in 1434, several kings owned the statue. She stayed in Laos for more than 200 years before being returned to Thailand during the capture of Vientiane in 1778. She finally acquired her permanent place in the temple in 1784. The atmosphere that reigns around this place is special and touching. At the foot of the altar you can sometimes see royal gifts and offerings of ordinary people.

Wat Arun
The Morning Dawn Temple, built on the banks of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, is distinguished by its prang tower from Khmer style. Built at a time when Ayutthaya was still the capital of the Kingdom of Siam, Wat Arun is a magical and amazing place. We recommend visiting it at dawn, and you will see the enchanting game of sunlight.

BAT ON
Located almost opposite the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, this cult place is Bangkok’s largest temple. Here is the most prestigious massage school in Thailand. The majestic statue of the reclining Buddha, covered with gold leaf, has a length of almost 46 meters.

Wat Tremits, Temple of the Golden Buddha
Wat Tremith holds one of the largest golden Buddha statues in the world. With a height of approximately 5 meters and a weight of about 5.5 tons, this statue was hidden by monks under a thick layer of gypsum in order to protect this treasure from potential invaders in case of conflict. The giant Golden Buddha was accidentally discovered years later during the move: the fall broke a layer of gypsum, revealing a shiny statue.
