Traveling with a child: which transport to choose?
Are you planning a trip with a small child? Congratulations! Someone will say that you are a desperate parent. We, on the contrary, will support you, and say that there is nothing to worry about. The main thing is to properly prepare for the trip. And we will leave stereotypes to all uncertain, ever doubting couch potatoes.
First you need to decide on the transport on which you plan to reach your destination.
AIRPLANE
Airplane is undoubtedly the most convenient form of transport in terms of speed of delivery to the desired resort. But here you need to try to get around all the pitfalls. From motion sickness, a bracelet or medicine is suitable (you need to give it half an hour before take-off).
Moisten the baby’s nasal mucosa, lubricate with antiviral ointment in order to prevent diseases, because the air in the plane is dry, stale due to the large number of passengers. An unprepared small organism may not cope, and you will receive a sick baby upon arrival.
Be sure to bring plain water with you to the salon (exclude sweets, sweet soda and juices), it is better to take something light, for example, an apple, from food.
Favorite toy will calm, entertain and bring a sense of comfort and safety.
CAR
The main problem that parents face when traveling by car is fatigue and motion sickness. Buy a motion sickness bracelet in advance. During the movement, you must constantly make stops: for sleep (book a hotel / hostel / apartment), food (look at decent food points along the way in advance), a toilet, and just stretch your stiff limbs. If your baby is less than 5 years old, stop every 2 hours. So the trip will be less tiring for him.
The child needs to be carried away. Think about what toys you take with you. It should be both your favorite, already tested toys, and new ones that can interest the baby. On sale now there are small tables that are attached to the car seat. On it, a child can easily assemble a constructor, and sculpt from plasticine, and draw.
The chair should be comfortable, and try to test it in advance. May your trip to such a long distance not be the first. Accustom the kid gradually to the fact that it is necessary to sit in a fastened state for a rather long time, both to the seat itself and to the noise of the car.
Food. The easiest way to travel with babies. Food is always with you: tasty, safe, and even do not need to be warmed up. If the child already eats the usual foods, it is better to take everything with you: make porridge in a thermos, season with fruit puree, take your favorite cookies or bread on the road. They, too, can be nice to distract if the child is capricious.
Just in case, check the addresses and phone numbers of the nearest clinics and hospitals that will be along your way. Anything can happen on the road.A TRAIN
Ideally, you should buy all the coupes, then the trip will be more or less comfortable. No need to share shelves, table with anyone. You are left to your own devices. If there is no way to buy everything, then it’s worth taking the necessary number of tickets, but again in a compartment car.
Entertainment: games, toys, fairy tales, stories, comments “what is outside the window.” In fact, traveling by train is a little adventure. Children will remember her for a long time, especially if they are carried away.
Food. No problem if the baby is breast-fed. Slightly more problems, if not: take on the road vegetables, fruit purees, fruits, cereals, and any other healthy, tasty, familiar snack.
We advise you to take a travel pot with you. If the baby is over the age of diapers, do not wear them during the trip. As a rule, the cars are very stuffy and hot, and the child will be completely uncomfortable. But the pot will come in handy, by the way, in case of a busy toilet or sanitary zone. Although, given the level of cleanliness of our carriage toilets, we advise you to always use your potty.
From motion sickness will help funds voiced earlier.
BUS
The bus is the most inappropriate type of transport when traveling with a small child over long distances. As a rule, it is crowded and there is no way to go out whenever you want, walk around the cabin (in the case of children, run around). There is no place to sleep comfortably. If you have a little baby, you’ll have to hold him in his arms all the way. However, if you cannot avoid such a trip, then the previous recommendations on food, motion sickness and entertainment will do.
